Father's Day Celebration!!

We splurged in honor of our special Dad today!  Yesterday we prepped baby back ribs and baked them for two hours.  I can't tell you how hard it was to put them in the fridge and not just tear right into them!  Today Richard finished them up on the grill.  Yeah, I know!  Poor Richard had to cook on Father's Day!  My grilling skills are a bit lacking, so he was kind enough to grill them up for us, and I happen to know he loves to grill so it was a win win situation!  A full rack for everyone. Only Jacob was able to eat his entire slab, the rest of us will be having more tomorrow! Annalina came in second, she ate about 3/4's of hers! Mmmmmm!

Later for dessert we had root beer floats. Reminds me of my Dad, he always loved a good root beer float.  I miss him.  A lot.  It was a fun day and we all love Richard so much. He is a wonderful father and a great man.  I am so grateful to have him at the head of our family.  We love you Richard!!

Baptism Volcano

I am almost forgot to blog about Joseph's special baptism treat.  A few years ago we went to Rainforest Cafe near Disneyland for lunch. They brought us a volcano and so in honor of such a special occasion, we made some at home!  Here is Joseph with is yummy treat!  He was a bit worried about the sparkler on top, so he stood back.  He did manage to ear the whole thing and then he had more!

Joseph's Big Day, and Jacob's Too!

Our day started with Richard ordaining Jacob to the office of an Elder!  Brother Brown, a member of the Stake Presidency and Brother Becerril both came to our home to assist.  Along with the ordination, Richard gave Jacob a beautiful blessing.  I am so proud of him.  He is on his way to being able to serve a mission, which has been his goal for a long time now.

After that we headed right out to the Stake Center to have Joseph baptized.  Jacob baptized him and Richard conferred upon him the Holy Ghost.  Because Jacob had just been ordained an Elder, he was able to join in the confirmation. It was a touching experience.  It was sweet to see how serious Joseph was about it and to watch the understanding that was evident in his sweet little face.

After we drove up to the Temple to take some family photos.  It was a beautiful day here in Rexburg and the flowers were blooming beautifully!  Then Grandma Frederick took us to Fong's for lunch. Joseph got his favorite, sweet and sour chicken, and so did most of the rest of us!

Summer is Here!

The kids have been out of school for a couple of weeks. It has been a hard adjustment for me because I want to spend time with them when they don't have school.  But...I still have school!  I will be going until the third week in July.  I got a chance the other day to go on a bike ride with the kids to the Teton River. We love to go play in the water. I took a long a camp chair and my nook so I could get some reading done!  The kids had fun checking out tad poles in various stages.  It was such a beautiful day!

Rexburg Nature Park by Adrienne

Hey everyone! I apologize for not posting anything in a while! School kind of took over my life for a bit. Anyway, today I got the chance to go to the nature park in Rexburg, Idaho. I got to take my siblings with me, and we had a blast! There were tons of ducks and geese, and we were able to get pretty close to them! Hope you enjoy some of the photos I took. =)
