Last Minute Halloween

Yesterday my to do list included "ask Joseph about costume stuff". He said he was fine. Today after school he said, I'm going trick or treating with my friend Will and I need a costume. And this is what I came up with. He loves it. Sad thing, I had just recycled a ton of online shopping boxes, and I was still able to find all these. I may have a problem. Anyway, Joseph is officially a black Friday delivery!! He said it got kinda heavy, but he managed and I'm sure in some way he is now stronger!

Helping Out in the Rescue World

Today Annalina and I drove the first leg of a rescue transport consisting of 13 kittens. Our shelters are overflowing and these babies needed to get to Kalispell to find their forever homes and stay alive. We got them to Butte. Annalina was so sweet to sit and talk to them quietly to calm them down. She even handled transferring them to other carriers all by herself. It was a six hour round trip, but so fun. And Annalina and I talked the whole way home. Fun Saturday with my girl!!

Mind vs Soul

I hit a wall today. A big thick painful wall. In all honesty, I have seen it coming for a while. But I have shoved the emotions down and ignored them and now they have come spilling out of the cracks in my healing heart and there is nowhere to put them all. I want to climb into my safe place, my bed, and just let it all out, but I have too much to do today. I have plans with my widows group tonight, and even if my mind is telling me I just can't do it, I know it is what my soul needs, even for just a little while. Things will get better, they always do, but this roller coaster ride can get exhausting.

School Pics with Adrienne

The kids missed picture day at the school, but I have decided its way cooler to have Adrienne take them, because of the variety and the skills she has for capturing the best pictures!  Melanie joined us too.

School Spirit

My kiddos are off at the homecoming game! I love that they went together! We sprayed their hair, but since all the red was gone, we got hot pink, one of Joseph's favorite colors! I think they look great!!!

Blessings

What an amazing evening with my daughter, Annalina, who put on a fashion show for me with clothing given to her by her Young Womens leader. Apparently they are body doubles because everything fit perfectly and that is amazing since Annalina is 6'1". I never told anyone that socks and two pairs of jeans and a lunch box was all I could get her for back to school. And Annalina never complained. She is so excited about her new outfits! It feels amazing when miracles like this happen. Thanks to all who love and serve my family! I am forever grateful! And I will do my best to pay it forward!

Fun With the Boise Family!

We got to go to a water park, ate at Red Lobster, had Sub-Zero ice cream, and yet these precious people were and always are the highlight! It's never long enough!! Love you, Adrienne and family!!!

No Babies For You!!

So, the kitties were fixed this week and Tanani is having a little trouble with recovery. We got her a carrier to keep her safe from her wildly playful brother, but he LOVES it and keeps going in it to nap. Silly kitty! And we have her wearing a newborn onesie to protect her incision. Annalina picked it out and is having way too much fun dressing her up! I must admit, these little kittens were just what Annalina needed.

What's that noise?

Tanani hears the dishwasher, but can't figure out what the sound is!! She's been in this position for about 5 minutes now.

Happy Day Jacob

I am so blessed to be Jacob's mom. He is strong, independent, and is always willing to help out. He has braved so many challenges in his 23 years. He never makes excuses, he just tries harder. I am grateful he still lives with me. He eases my burdens. I love and admire Jacob so very much! Happy birthday Jacob! (Please enjoy tonight's picture at Big Judds.)

Sweet Kittens

No sleeping pills for these two! Aren't they so sweet!!

Don't Fight Your Sleeping Pills

Last night I took a sleeping pill, but didn't go right to bed. I ended up joining instagram (???) And I made an unexpected largish purchase online. Well, Annalina is thrilled to be getting a cell phone and I guess I was planning to get her one soon anyway...

Funniest part, I woke up thinking it was all a dream!! Nope!

Still Seeing Effects of Chemo

Tonight I learned that due to my chemo treatments, I cannot be a bone marrow donor. I am so sad I can't join the registry and possibly help someone when they need it most. I learned a lot about the process. Donating is not scary and invasive as everyone seems to think. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me. You'd forever be my hero, and perhaps you could be someone's last chance at life!

Salt Lake City Fun

We needed to go down to Salt Lake for an appointment to check on Joseph. He is doing great. His weight has caught up to his height and he is growing taller, which was very exciting for him.  He dreams of catching up to his sister.

We learned a lot more about his disease while there.  We learned things to watch out for and things to do to help him stay in remission longer.  I fear the day that his meds no longer work, but his Doctor assured us that there are other options. It was such a relief to see how well he is doing.  I am so proud of him and his positive outlook on his illness.

After his appointment I took the kids to lunch.  It was still too early to check in to our hotel, but just down the street was Wheeler Farm, where my sisters and I spent time on field trips in grade school when we lived in Utah.  It was hot and I wasn't sure the kids would really enjoy it, but we went anyway.  It was fabulous!  There were lots of animals to love and touch.  We met a calf who was 2 weeks old and we met two who were about 6 weeks old. We saw donkeys, bunnies, chickens, pigs, and roosters. Annalina especially enjoyed the horses.  The next day we checked out of the hotel and the kids asked if we could go back to the farm.  There was a walk/run going on as we got there and wouldn't you know it, it was the "Crohn's and Colitis" awareness walk.  A bunch of the horses were at the fences being brushed down for a summer horse camp the following week. We got to meet them, pet them and learn more about them.  It was a great way to spend part of our day!
